Biosafe’s Regulatory Expert Ruud Bremmers and Sales Director Janne Ylärinne will be representing us at EuroTier 2026 in Hanover on 10–13 November 2026.
EuroTier brings together the international livestock, animal nutrition and feed industries to explore developments in animal health, feeding, sustainability and production technology. This year’s guiding theme, “Intelligence in Animal Farming”, looks at how science, technology and data can improve productivity, efficiency, animal welfare and sustainability.
For Biosafe, the programme offers plenty to follow. Feed additives, microbial safety, gut health, biotechnology and regulatory developments all feature prominently.
Here are five sessions that caught our attention.
Top 5 picks for EuroTier 2026
10 November, 12:00–13:00
Building a Modern Feed Biosecurity Program
Feed safety starts long before feed reaches the animal. This panel looks at how producers can move towards risk-based biosecurity, covering ingredient risk assessment, targeted interventions, monitoring and the prevention of recontamination.
It is a highly relevant discussion for anyone working with feed safety, microbial risks or products intended to support animal health.
Speaker: Africa Fernandez, Technical Director, Anitox.
10 November, 13:30–14:00
Use of 2′-Fucosyllactose to Promote the Health of Dairy Calves
HMOs are familiar territory in human nutrition, so seeing the fermentatively produced milk oligosaccharide 2′-fucosyllactose investigated in calves makes this an especially interesting session.
The presentation shares results from a field study examining animal performance, feed intake and changes in the gut microbiome. It is a good example of how biotechnology-derived ingredients are opening up new possibilities in animal nutrition.
Speaker: Jobst Buschmann, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.
11 November, 16:00–17:00
A New Framework for Gut Health Management: Rethinking Antibiotic Reduction Through Multiple Modes of Action
Gut health products need more than an interesting mode of action. They also need evidence.
This session approaches gut health through microbial control, host resilience and delivery technology, while highlighting a validation pathway from in vitro screening and challenge studies through to independent and commercial validation.
That combination of product concept, efficacy evidence and practical validation makes this one particularly relevant from Biosafe’s perspective.
Speaker: Vincent Guyonnet, Insighter Biotechnology.
11 November, 18:30
Level Playing Field: The EU Livestock Strategy and its implications for livestock farmers in Europe
What direction is European livestock policy taking, and what will it mean for producers and the wider feed and animal health industries?
The evening’s International Cattle & Pig Event opens with a keynote from the European Commission, followed by a panel bringing together livestock producers from Finland, Ireland, Poland and Germany.
Keynote: Carlos Martin Ovilo, Deputy Head of Unit, Animal Products, European Commission.
Panel: Carlos Martin Ovilo; Shane McAuliffe, pig farmer, Ireland; Jarosław Szurko, pig farmer, Poland; Virpi Paavola, dairy farmer, Finland; and Renke Ackermann, dairy farmer, Germany.
13 November, 10:00–11:30
From Farm to Fork: Start-up innovations across the entire value chain
A good place to see where animal nutrition and biotechnology might be heading next.
Five start-ups will present technologies spanning AI-powered fermentation, livestock microbiome analysis, insect protein, indoor farming and robotics. Particularly interesting from our perspective are Sapiens Microbiome, which uses AI to analyse farm-animal microbiomes and develop precision feeding recommendations, and MOA FoodTech, which uses fermentation to turn food-industry side streams into functional protein ingredients.
The discussion also addresses the journey from new technology to market-ready solution and the partnerships needed for successful scale-up.
Speakers: Mariana Nascimento, Sapiens AI in Microbiome; Marta Ortega, MOA Biosciences; Dr Marius Wenning, Hermetia Tech; Thorsten Lansmann-Niehaus, Stallgrün; and Johannes Pankert, Witty Machines.
Meet Ruud and Janne in Hanover
EuroTier brings together many of the questions Biosafe works with every day: how to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of feed products, how to build the evidence required for regulatory approval, and how new ingredients and technologies can successfully make the journey to market.
Ruud Bremmers and Janne Ylärinne will be at EuroTier 2026 throughout 10–13 November.
If you are developing a feed additive, microbial product, fermentation-derived ingredient or other regulated feed innovation and would like to discuss regulatory strategy, safety assessment, dossier preparation or testing requirements, come and meet us in Hanover.
