In early June, the animal protein sector gathers in Utrecht for VIV Europe 2026. Biosafe will be there to meet feed, animal health and livestock industry companies and to discuss how safety, testing and regulatory strategy support product development and market access.
Biosafe’s Key Account Manager, PhD Jouni Heikkinen will attend VIV Europe 2026 in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on 2 to 4 June.
VIV Europe describes itself as the “World Expo from Feed to Food” and brings together professionals across the animal protein production chain. The 2026 event covers poultry meat, eggs, pig production, aquaculture, feed systems, digital farming, dairy and related services, with around 600 suppliers represented across the supply chain.
From feed to food
VIV has its roots in the Dutch phrase Vakbeurs Innovatieve Veehouderij, meaning Trade Fair for Innovative Animal Farming. Today, the VIV brand is used internationally for events focused on livestock production, animal protein and the full feed-to-food chain.
VIV Europe is built around the full animal protein value chain. Exhibitor categories include feed and grain technology, feed ingredients and additives, animal health, breeding and hatching, farm production, processing, logistics, laboratory testing equipment and consultancy. Visitor profiles include feed technology, quality control, hygiene, animal health, foodservice, retail and external knowledge services.
That feed-to-food perspective is highly relevant for Biosafe. Feed innovation is increasingly shaped by the same questions that affect the wider food and biotech sectors: ingredient safety, microbiological quality, documentation, regulatory classification, claims, evidence requirements and international market access.
For companies developing feed additives, microbial products, fermentation-derived ingredients, alternative proteins or other animal nutrition solutions, strong science needs to be matched with a clear regulatory pathway. Safety data, strain characterisation, analytical methods and testing strategy can determine whether a promising product moves forward smoothly or faces avoidable delays.
Biosafe at VIV Europe 2026
At VIV Europe, Jouni Heikkinen will meet both existing and new customers to discuss regulatory and laboratory-backed safety support for the feed and animal protein sectors.
Biosafe supports companies with scientific and regulatory services related to food and feed safety, microbial safety, toxicology, strain characterisation, laboratory testing strategy, dossier preparation and market access planning.
For feed-sector companies, this can include support with microbial products, feed ingredients, additives, fermentation-derived materials, safety testing needs, regulatory route assessment and evidence planning for European and international markets.
Meet us in Utrecht!
If you are attending VIV Europe 2026 and want to discuss feed safety, product testing, regulatory strategy or market access for animal nutrition and biotech-related products, let’s talk.
